Tallmadge
Software Tech Completer
Now Excelling in Nursing Program
Although
Rachel Tomello is pursuing a career in the medical field
and not business, she says the skills she learned in Software
Technology at Tallmadge High School have been invaluable.
A 2008 graduate,
Tomello is a junior in the College of Nursing at The Ohio
State University. She works part-time as a Student Nurse
Associate at the O.S.U. Medical Center and as an Undergraduate
Research Intern in the Emergency Department at Nationwide
Children's Hospital in Columbus.
“Software
Technology has helped me immensely in my professional journey
thus far,” Tomello explains. “Creating the portfolio
introduced me to cover letters, resumes and resignation
letters, and I learned how to properly compose and format
any and all kinds of documents.”
According
to teacher Joni Giles, “Rachel was always focused
and has a strong work ethic—it is apparent because
she is doing so well and having much success—I knew
she was one determined, young lady.”
Tomello
concludes, “I attribute much of my academic and professional
success and confidence to the tools I took away from Software
Technology.”
